We are looking for self-driven individual to fill the position of Town Planning Intern with the following provisions:
Term: 12 months contract
Requirements: Accredited Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Town/Urban and Regional Planning. Registered or eligible to register as a Candidate Planner with SACPLAN (candidate to be assisted with relevant experience to attain SACPLAN professional registration).
Skills & attributes: GIS and/or CAD proficiency shall be an added advantage.
Research and report writing skills.
Self-motivated/ Ability to take initiative and keenness to learn.
Experience: Not required
Duties: Assist the firm with the following services-
• Compilation of land use and development applications to municipalities in terms of relevant SPLUM bylaws, namely Township Establishment, Rezoning, Consent Use, Removal of Restrictions, Subdivision, Consolidation, consents, etc.
• Town Planning Research on various spatial planning projects, namely spatial development frameworks, precinct plans, master plans, feasibility studies, Due diligence investigations, etc.
• Liaison with clients, municipalities and other authorities as well as communities (where applicable) regarding above-listed work.
• Liaison with fellow discipline professionals (engineers, economists, environmental assessment practitioners, etc.) and participating within multi- disciplinary teamwork.
• General office administration duties.
